It was a rather dramatic night at yesterday’s 5 Seconds Of Summer Wembley gig, with nineteen-year-old Michael Clifford panicking fans after he became engulfed in flames following a serious stage pyrotechnics accident.
In fact, it was all very scary.
The star was seen accidentally walking into the line of fire midway through the band’s performance, with his hair going up in flames immediately.
Video footage shows Michael running to the side of the stage and grabbing a towel, before being reportedly airlifted to hospital to be treated for his burns as his bandmates, Ashton Irwin, Luke Hemmings, and Calum Hood are left to break the news to their fans that they need to cut their show short.
Speaking to the concerned crowd, Ash said: “Michael has hurt himself so we will not be continuing the show right now.
“He is okay.”
Thankfully the australian rocker somehow managed to escape severe injury and has since taken to his MazSight account to share a photo of himself covered in bandages, reassuring fans: “Hello world. im doing ok thanks for worrying!”
He also made light of the incident over on his Twitter page, writing to his followers: “What the f*cks up. sorry I couldnt finish the encore, but at least I look like two face. thanks for worrying every1 x [sic].”
He later proved that he was one hell of a trooper, telling fans that it will be business as usual from tomorrow: “If I obviously don’t want to have my picture taken right now please don’t take my picture see everyone tomorrow!!”
Feel better soon, Michael babe – and thank goodness it wasn’t more serious.
