Adam Lambert has hinted that he’s had sex with Hollywood A-listers who have never revealed that they’re gay, and now we’re playing something of a guessing game. Hmm.
The singer, who previously spoke about how he’s changed his image (and looks hotter than the sun) for his new album, has been chatting about the industry and what affect it could be having on celebrities expressing their true sexuality.
An interesting debate, especially in the midst of Bruce Jenner bravely coming out as transgender in his tell-all interview with Diane Sawyer.
Speaking to Glamour magazine about male stars who have not come out of the closet, the openly gay singer admitted: “I’ve been with a few of them.”
The 33-year-old went on to discuss why he thinks some men hide their true sexuality, saying: “Whether it’s music or acting, you’ve got to remember that those industries are primarily run by men, so maybe it’s about that.
“But with women being the primary movie-goers and record-buyers, surely it shouldn’t matter so much?”
Agreed, Adam. Everyone should feel free to be exactly who they are, regardless of audiences and industries and anything else.
Adam also admitted that he’s slept with women before, saying: “I think women are beautiful – and I always notice when girls smell really good.
“Like most gay men, I’m drawn to really confident women… I have slept with a woman before.
“I did it for the first time when I was 29. It was a random thing but I was very curious. It felt great.”
Kudos to Adam for being so open.
The singer, who is also an occasional Freddie Mercury stand-in, recently spoke about the image overhaul he’s had ahead of the release of his third studio album, ‘The Original High’.
In an interview with Notion magazine, he explained: “Someone said to me ‘Oh, you’re not wearing all that crazy sh*t, are you trying to tone it down?’
“And I was like ‘No, I just got tired. F*ck! It was a lot of work!”
We feel you, Adam.
Adam went on to add that it wasn’t just his physical appearance that had seen a change of late, also revealing that his upcoming album was also totally different to anything that he has done before, sharing: “The album is dance-y but bittersweet, and the lyrics are a little darker [than that have been previously].
“I’ve done the more bubblegum stuff, I’ve done the camp stuff, and now I want to encourage people to face their sh*t.
“I want to show them the part of me that’s not all polished or [still part of] the ‘pageant on TV’ thing – I want it to be real, you know?”
We do, Adam. Keep being awesome, babes, because we ruddy LOVE you for it.
