When you’ve sat through approximately sixteen and a half HOURS of the American Music Awards 2014, how would you want the show to end? Some circus dancers perhaps? A half-hour long Beyoncé medley? Being personally teleported straight back to your own bed to save all that travelling home nonsense?
Erm, sorry. We’ve got none of that for you, but how about a booticilous twerk-off from Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea?
It’s great, PROMISE.
Yup, after hours upon hours of AMA fun, more awards than we can count on two hands and a plethora of Fitness (HEY ONE DIRECTION), there really was no other way to close the show than bringing on the mama of all pop music and the up-and-coming princess of hip-hop to show us all how it’s done.
And by all, we mean Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus. NO FOAM FINGERS TO SEE HERE FOLKS.
J-Lo, 45, and Iggy, 24, teamed up for a performance of their incredible duet Booty to get the audience all pumped up for the after-parties.
Or for the taxi ride home. Either or.
The ladies’ performance was jam-packed with full-on dance moves and more booty shaking than an episode of So You Think You Can Dance?
The girls looked flipping GORGEOUS as they twerked it out and gave the audience a blowout dance break that left everyone feeling pretty bootylicious at the end of the show.
Booty, booty, booty everywhere apparently.
J-Lo, Iggy and their booties were three of the big talking points of the night, as they donned barely-there, sparkly leotards for the performance, making sure errrrbody remembered their names.
Pfft. As IF we could forget them.
Basically, if you didn’t feel like the second coming of Beyoncé after their performance, you were doing something wrong.
Their dance break brought some light-hearted relief to the ceremony, especially after Selena Gomez’s totes emosh rendition of new single The Heart Wants What It Wants, which is rumoured to be about her rockier-than-the-Himalayas relationship with Justin Bieber.
At the end of the performance which even made us cry a tear or twenty, Selly seemed to look down at the ground, possibly to stop us all seeing her crying face.
Thank goodness for a dance break, aye?
BRB, off to practise our own booty dance. Sorry not sorry.
