After Tay and Kanye looked shockingly friendly at this year’s Grammys, it’s being reported that the two’s bond is now better than ever as they’re apparently heading into the studio to work together.
We’re not sure how or why this happened, but we LIKE IT.
Partially because it shows what a wonderfully forgiving person 25-year-old Taylor is, and also because it shows that somewhere, Kanye does have treble-clef-shaped musical eyes for someone other than Beyoncé (and Kim Kardashian, obviously).
We’re still not sure we’re totally over the VMAs-saga of 2009, but considering there’ll probably be some sick beats coming out of their collab, we’re sure we’ll work on it.
Fingers crossed there’s a ‘T-Swizzle is the bizzle’ line in there somewhere. Or something, you know, actually good.
Speaking to Ryan Seacrest, Kanye revealed: “She wants to get in the studio and we’re definitely going to go in. Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get in the studio and work.
“I don’t discriminate, I don’t have an elitism of music because of like how many Grammys or you know, the amount of ratings you get on an album.
“I that think everyone loves music whether they love hip hop, alternative, country, and if I could be involved in giving people any type of energy, advice in the studio, whether you’re Beyoncé, whether you’re Taylor Swift, whether you’re Jay Z, whether you’re Beck, whoever, and they can be reciprocal with that, I’d like to be involved with that.”
We’re guessing by ‘I don’t discriminate’ he’s already forgotten about the Beck hoo-haa he created at this year’s Grammys. Okay good.
We’re not *entirely* sure what sort of rap/pop/hip-hop fusion they’re going to make together, but we’re excited, intrigued, confused and happy at the same time. Bring. It. On.
ICYMI, Kanye caused controversy at this year’s big music awards when he stormed the stage as Beck won the big Album of the Year award over Yeezus’s BFF Beyoncé.
Although it was actually just the rapper poking fun at his 2009 antics, he later ranted to E! News about Beck’s win, suggesting that perhaps he wasn’t joking after all.
He said: “I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce.
“Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration.”
Thankfully, Beck actually saw the funny side of it all and revealed that he was pretty darn excited when Kanye crashed his big moment.
He said: “I was just so excited he was coming up. He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody.
“How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right? I still love him and I think he’s a genius – I aspire to do what he does.”
So, we’ll just sit here for the next six years and wait for Kanye and Beck collaboration, shall we?
