We’re all scared of the Ebola outbreak, and it seems that Ariana Grande is just as scared as the rest of us, as she’s cancelled an upcoming trip…to Spain!
While it’s understandable that you’re going to take precautions if you’re popping over to Africa, apparently Ariana has decided that a trip to Spain is just too risky after nurse, Teresa Romero, caught the virus after caring for an Ebola patient.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, a source said: “Ariana’s promo trip had to be cancelled – her team weren’t prepared to take any chances during the incubation period.
“Of course, some people might think it’s an over-reaction but everyone agreed it was the right decision.”
While we can sympathies with Ariana and her team’s fears over this deadly virus, we’re going to have to be ‘those people’, and definitely label this as one of the biggest over reactions we’ve seen in a while.
Which means we’re gonna have to sound our ridiculously loud diva klaxon on this one.
After all, Teresa and three other patients who were all suffering from Ebola have been given the all clear.
But being the nervous Nelly that we just discovered she is, the former Nickolodean star won’t be rescheduling her trip this month, and may even wait till next year before she feels it’s safe enough to visit.
Meanwhile, Ariana has decided it’s safe enough to visit France and has given the all clear to her team to head to paris – even though Spain and France share a landlocked border.
With the source summing up the Problem hitmakers plans, saying: “Ariana headed to Paris instead and now won’t get round to visiting Spain until November at the earliest, if at all this year.”
But being the professional performer she is the pop star isn’t holding all this against Spain, and made sure “The visit was put back in the diary,” for a future date.
Which is nice…right?
In other news, the rising pop superstar has been compared to the likes of Mariah Carey and JLo for being rather *ahem* difficult backstage, but it seems that Ariana Grande doesn’t mind her ‘diva’ label.
The 21-year-old pop star, who is constantly being accused of making RIDIC demands and stropping off all over the show, is actually okay with it.
Each to their own, yeah, Ari?!
The Bang, Bang singer told the Telegraph Magazine: “It’s weird to me because I do see myself as a fairly positive, very friendly person. So it’s kind of odd.
“I also think a lot of people don’t know what the word ‘diva’ means. If you want to call me a diva I’ll say, ‘Um, well, cool.’ Barbra Streisand is a diva; that’s amazing. Celine Dion is a diva; thank you.”
Ummm – yeah, okay.
But while she’s, like, *totes* on board with THAT label, there’s one that she’s REALLY NOT OKAY WITH, OKAY?
Ariana added: “But if you want to call me a b**ch, that’s not accurate. Because it’s just not in my nature.”
Jessie J recently spoke out in Ariana’s defence, hitting back at all those pesky claims that she’s a nightmare to work with.
She told Capital FM: “I know how it feel to have people say stuff about you that isn’t true. I would never say anything if I hadn’t met her, but I have met her and I’ve hung out with her and I’ve worked with her.
“She’s 21 years-old and until you’ve lived the life that she’s living you can’t understand how hard it is. And there’s a very thin line between diva and survival and especially, as a woman, I have to stick up for all of us. It gets really tough.”
There you have it; she’s a survivalist not a diva, okay?
