Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie hunter are reportedly expecting their first child together.
Talk about a busy few months.
The 38-year-old Imitation game actor proposed to the 36-year-old theatre director last year, with the New York Post’s Page Six now claiming that the two have further happy news.
A source told the column: “Sophie is a few months along, and both she and Benedict are very excited about it. They are also quietly planning to marry in early Spring.”
While Benedict and Sophie are yet to confirm the news, we don’t doubt they’ll announce it in a classy fashion – much like their engagement.
Back in November, Benedict revealed the news that the two were set to marry by sending in an announcement to the Forthcoming Marriages section in The Times.
The fancy announcement read: “Mr BT. Cumberbatch and Miss S.I. Hunter: The engagement is announced between Benedict, son of Wanda and Timothy Cumberbatch of London, and Sophie, daughter of Katharine Hunter of Edinburgh and Charles Hunter of London.”
Speaking to USA Today about his decision to announce in such a traditional way, Benedict was adamant that he would have done the same had he not been in the public eye.
He said: “It’s what I would have done if I wasn’t famous.
“It’s a normal thing to do in my country. It was a way of telling our friends who we hadn’t been able to tell before (they saw) some grainy shot of a ring on her finger.”
Congratulations to the happy couple!
