Right then, everyone. Big Brother 2015: Timebomb has OFFICIALLY launched, so strap yourselves in and grab some supplies, because we’re all in this for the longhaul. We’re all in this together, all for one and one for all yada yada.
Of course, it wouldn’t be a launch night without some sort of twist and last night’s surprise was nothing short of brilliant, as housemate Simon Gross found himself evicted after just TWO HOURS in the house.
Nice meeting you, mate.
In a shock timebomb twist, viewers got to vote on the BB app for which five housemates they wanted to partake in the first task. Ooo.
Based purely on the new arrivals’ introductions, Adjoa Mensah, Jack McDermott, Jade Lynch, Nick Henderson, and Simon were chosen as the (un)lucky five. They were then given just 30 seconds to decide who should stand behind which timebomb.
Jack did pretty well out of the task, walking away with “3 immunity passes to use in the house.”
Jade also came out of the task with a reward, with BB telling her: “You’ll be able to claim a luxury shopping budget exclusively for you at any point throughout your time in the house.”
Can we smell tension already? Yes, yes we can.
Nick didn’t do *quite* so well, winning the wonderful prize of having to nominate face-to-face in front of the other housemates throughout his time inside the house.
Good luck, buddy.
It was then down to Adjoa and Simon, who opened their bombs at the same time to find that while Adjoa received nothing, Simon received eviction.
After being shown his, er, “best bits,” the 46-year-old theatre company owner told Emma Willis (who was looking utterly bodacious): “I got my five minutes of fame. It was fantastic.
“Those guys are fantastic and I would have loved to have been with them.”
The crowd continued to boo him, to which he simply said: “It’s showbiz. Darling I’ve had so many rejections in my career, this is just one of many, it’s all showbiz.
“I would have been fabulous, but that’s the way it goes, that’s showbiz.”
We THINK it’s showbiz, but we can’t quite be sure.
He added: “I think the people I’ve met are really young and fun and attractive, interesting, and I think it’s going to be a fantastic summer. You haven’t seen the last of me yet.”
Not only did Simon get his five minutes of fame, but he also got his own tweet from Katie Hopkins after making a dig at her earlier in the night.
She tweeted: “Simon. I would like to say that is what happens when you use my name in vain. Respect Queen Hopkins #BBUK”
Bad luck, Simon.
