Legendary Big Brother contestant Nikki Grahame has revealed that she was sectioned following a suicide attempt last year.
The 31-year-old reality star, who has battled with anorexia for most of her adult life, revealed that just before the incident she was eating 1,200 calories a day- 800 less than she should have been.
Revealing to Closer magazine that she didn’t intend on killing herself, Nikki admitted that she hit rock bottom after her Mother moved away.
She explained: “I took some sleeping tablets and kind of slept for about three days. Everyone was ringing me and, in the end, an ambulance was called and my door got knocked down.
“Throughout the years I managed to avoid being sectioned, but this time it was taken out of my hands.”
After she was rushed to hospital, her Father decided it was in her best interests to be sectioned.
Nikki is now on anti-depressants and admits that being sectioned saved her life.
The star has been open about her battles with anorexia in the past after the disease left her infertile and suffering from Osteoporosis.
Now on the road to recovery, Nikki has already put on a stone and is determined to beat the illness.
She said: “I think I’m about 6 and a half stone… I feel much more calm.”
