Bobbi Kristina Brown‘s aunt has spoken out to reveal that despite remaining on life support, her niece is “doing well” after being found unconscious and face-down in her bathtub.
Although it was reported that the family could turn off Bobbi’s life support on the anniversary of her mum Whitney Houston’s death (yesterday), Leolah Brown said that Bobbi was showing encouraging signs that “she will be ok.”
Bobby Brown’s sister spoke to Fox 5 Atlanta about her 21-year-old niece, dismissing claims that the family had been told to prepare for the worst.
She said: “There are so many signs showing us that she will be ok, despite what people are saying over the internet, Krissy is fine.
“She’s opening her eyes and there’s a few more things that she’s doing. Krissy is doing well right now.”
She said that the family remained “hopeful” for Bobbi’s health, before continuing: “It’s been very, very painful for everybody. Mainly Bobby, because that’s his baby.”
Roswell Police Chief, Rusty Grant, has confirmed that they are involved in an “ongoing criminal investigation” into finding out what happened to Bobbi, who has been in a coma since the 30th of January, but that no-one has been charged or named as a suspect.
Leolah added: “I saw this coming. I told her not to trust anyone.”
However, she also dismissed claims that Bobbi could have harmed herself, saying: “Krissi would never do anything to herself. She loved life too much. She had too much going on. She had too much ahead of her.”
Yesterday, it was reported that the police were investigating Bobby’s husband Nick Gordon, after they were called to her home over a domestic dispute one week before the incident.
According to E! News, Nick and Bobbi were the subject of an emergency services call placed on the 23rd of January, with Rick Gilbert from Ellard securities telling 911: “Just had a neighbour call and report saying people were hitting eachother and swinging outside in front of the town homes in Ellard Village.”
Although he admitted that he didn’t know the names of the people involved in the altercation, he gave the couple’s address and had the neighbour who complained call the police directly.
Last week, Bobby Brown released a statement to deny that his daughter had been taken off life support, adding that despite speculation, she was not brain dead.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, he said: “If we issued a statement every time the media published a false report regarding this matter, that’s all we would be doing 24 hours a day. This is false, just as is the vast majority of the other reporting that is currently taking place.”
A candlelight vigil was held in Bobbi’s honour in her hometown on Monday night.
