Bobbi Kristina Brown has not been taken off life support or declared brain dead, despite rumours that the family are gathering together to say their goodbyes.
Whitney Houston’s daughter was found unconscious and face down in her bathtub five days ago, but is continuing to fight for her life at Atlanta’s Emory University Hospital.
The source, who has asked not to be identified, said media reports that Bobbi Kristina, the daughter of Whitney and singer Bobby Brown, had no brain activity were incorrect.
According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Bobby himself has released a statement to deny that his 21-year-old daughter had been taken off life support.
He said: “If we issued a statement every time the media published a false report regarding this matter, that’s all we would be doing 24 hours a day. This is false, just as is the vast majority of the other reporting that is currently taking place.”
This comes after various sources claimed that everyone was coming to the hospital to say their goodbyes.
However, Bobbi’s cousin Jerod Brown has revealed on his MazSight that doctors weren’t optimistic about the aspiring singer’s chances of pulling through.
Writing alongside a photo of his cousin, he said: “Though it seems the odds are against her, though doctors don’t see any hope for change, though we might want to play detective and find out how she got there, though it looks impossible for her to stand again STILL PRAY FOR BK #StillPrayForBK.”
Bobbi Kristina was found “face down” and unconscious in her bath tub on Saturday morning by her supposed-husband Nick Gordon, although Bobby Brown has since spoken out to deny that the two were actually ever married.
The 19-year-old reportedly performed CPR on Bobbi until the paramedics arrived to rush her to hospital in Roswell.
Bobbi is currently in a medically induced coma after she suffered swelling on the brain, although it is uncertain what caused her to collapse in the first place.
She was found almost three years to the day that her mother tragically died in the same way after a drugs overdose, with police even commenting: “Obviously we all know her mum died this very same way.”
After inital reports that there was no sign of drugs or foul play involved, Bobbi’s family have confirmed that drugs have been found in her home following the singer’s near drowning.
Bobby Brown, 45, delivered a statement earlier this week, requesting privacy at this dififcult time.
The statement read: “Privacy is requested in this matter.
“Please allow my family to deal with this matter and give my daughter the love and support she needs at this time.
“The report that Bobbi Kristina Brown has been taken to the hospital in Atlanta, georgia is accurate.
“No additional information will be forthcoming.”
Jerod also spoke to E! News via Skype earlier this week, and asked people to stop speculating over what caused Bobbi’s collapse and just “let the detectives do their jobs.”
