Brian Dowling is reportedly facing the axe from hosting duties on Big Brother with Emma Willis being lined up to replace him.
The 34-year-old former Big Brother winner has been fronting the series since Channel 5 bought the rights to air the show in 2011.
However, bosses are now looking to replace Brian with presenter Emma Willis, 36, who currently presents spin off show ‘Big Brother’s Bit on the Side’.
According to The Sun, producers see Emma Willis as a better replacement to Davina McCall, 45, who hosted the series for ten years on Channel 4.
An insider revealed:“Brian has been a great host but Emma is seen by channel chiefs as a true successor to Davina. They’re talking to her now about taking over the role from the summer.
“Like Davina when she hosted the show, Emma’s young, a mum of two, and very glamorous.
“The audience love her on BBBOTS and execs want to capitalise on that.
“She’s thinking it over but it’s a great opportunity and she would be mad to turn it down.”
It is thought that if Emma does accept the offer, Brian will be offered her former position presenting Bit on the Side.
However, it’s unlikely that after fronting the main show, Brian will be willing to take up the offer.
Confirmation of Emma’s new job, if she chooses to take it, will reportedly be released in as little as two weeks.
Big Brother will return to our screens this summer, kicking off with a civilian version of the show followed immediately by another Celebrity edition.
