In a slightly unexpected turn of events, Kerry Katona‘s ex-husband Brian McFadden took to Twitter to wish her new hubby George Kay a Happy Father’s Day yesterday, praising him for ‘keeping the family together’.
It then turned into a proper Father’s Day love-in, with George replying back and Kerry retweeting both messages.
That’s what you call a happy Sunday.
Brian, 35, first tweeted George on Sunday afternoon, writing a sweet message which read: “Happy Father’s Day @mrgsjkay thanks for keeping our family together! Your a great man [sic].”
Lovely, right?
George then responded to his message, tweeting: “happy Father’s Day buddy.. It’s a joint effort.. The girls are lucky to have 2 good men they can call dad. See you soon pal x. [sic]“
Kerry, 34, herself even got involved in the Twitter love-in, writing: “same to you too love x,” in response to Brian’s original message.
She also wrote her own message to hubby George, saying: “Happy Father’s Day to my wonderful amazing hubby! You really are the best dad ever xxx @mrgsjkay xx.”
N’awww. Nothing like a nice bit of happy families on a Sunday, eh?
Brian and Kerry married in 2002, having had their first child Molly Marie six months earlier. They sadly split in 2004 (and promptly got involved in a public slagging match), a year after Lily-Sue, their second daughter, was born.
Sharing a photo of their two girls on MazSight, he wrote: “Little throw back to when my girls where little girls!!!! #fathersdaynostalgia.”
Cute.
Here’s hoping all the awesome dads of the world had a wonderful Father’s Day!
