We have only just stopped laughing/ cringing at Madonna’s pretty epic BRIT Awards fall last week, and now the designer of the famous cape, Giorgio Armani, has come forward to blame Madge for the embarrassing mishap.
The fashion legend has branded the superstar “very difficult” to work with, and has explained that he told Madonna to use a simple fasten to attach the cloak, but she refused and insisted that it was tied around her neck.
Speaking at Milan fashion week, the designer guru told Associated Press: “Madonna, as we all know, is very difficult.
“That’s all there was to it.”
Erm, short and sweet we guess?
Madge has already spoken out about her #Fail on the Jonathan Ross Show, passing blame to the costume’s design by explaining: “I was told to tie my cape and start much further back and I had to walk further and everyone was worried my cape was sliding off so they tied it really tight around my neck.
“So here I am marching in like the queen, I got to the top of the stairs and I pulled the silky string and it wouldn’t come undone.
“My two lovely Japanese dancers they basically strangled me off the stage.
“I had two choices, I could either be strangled or fall, and I chose to fall.”
Which we reckon was probably the best choice all round… And didn’t it make the entire ceremony all the more exciting?
Madonna is yet to comment on what Giorgio has had to say about her, but we’ve got a feeling that she won’t be best pleased when she finds out…
