We’re gonn’ let you finish, but the Brit Awards have the best last-minute line-up addition of all time.
According to reports, 27-year-old RiRi, who was widely rumoured to be rocking up to the awards to blow our socks off on stage, failed to show at Monday’s rehearsals, plunging the whole show into total crisis.
An insider told The Sun: “Everything was prepared for Rihanna’s performance but she was a no-show.
“The organisers are furious as she was one of their biggest coups.”
Luckily, bosses apparently negotiated a deal with the 37-year-old in FourFiveSeconds (sorry), with Kanye agreeing to step in for an exclusive performance of one of his new songs.
The insider added: “Kanye is just as big a star as Rihanna and is always good value at awards shows.”
That’s one way of putting it. *Cough* VMAs 2009 and Grammys 2015 stage invasions *cough*.
Candice Morrissey, Head of YouTube Music Partnerships across Europe, said: “Kanye West tops off an amazing set of performers at this year’s BRIT Awards with some of the biggest British and global stars taking the stage.
“We’re excited to partner with the BRITs again this year so anyone outside of the UK who can’t tune in on TV can watch their favourite artists live on the BRITs YouTube channel.”
Kanye’s performance is said to be SO exclusive, only SEVEN people were allowed to see his rehearsal, according to The Mirror.
A source told the paper: “He wants the first time everyone hears it to be special.”
With Brit organisers saying his performance is guaranteed to be “truly epic,” and rumours that he’ll be joined by a load of dancers on stage, we’re actually really looking forward to this.
Even if we are still a bit gutted about the whole no-Rihanna thing.
Hosts Ant & Dec are equally as excited for Kanye’s big performance/impending stage invasion of some sort, with Ant jokingly adding to The Sun: “Come on, give us a Kanye moment!”
Meanwhile, Dec admitted: “As hosts, we just need to keep things moving. We’re not going to wrestle anybody to the ground or stand in their way. As long as nobody dies, we should be all right.”
Errr, yep. Avoiding that would be a good start!
Kanye will perform alongside a steller line-up tonight, with Madonna, Taylor Swift, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran, Paloma Faith, George Ezra, Royal Blood and Take That all set to take to the stage.
BRING. IT. ON.
