Just when you thought they couldn’t cram any more incredible performers into The Brit Awards 2015, they reportedly go and pop Rihanna‘s name onto the line-up.
AGH. So. Excited.
The pop princess will apparently be joining the likes of Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Madonna on stage for the big night.
Well, not literally joining them onstage, although that would be one heck of a collaboration, right?! (Is there some way we could actually make this happen?)
According to The Sun, the 26-year-old singer has been in talks with the awards’ organisers for over a month now, and they’re feeling pretty confident that she’ll be gracing the event with her presence.
Although what she’ll actually perform is still a bit of a mystery.
A source apparently revealed: “Brits bosses have wanted to get Rihanna for a long time, but they’ve been waiting for an answer.
She has been finalising her album plans and wanted to get the Grammys out of the way before confirming a second performance.”
WE’RE SO EXCITED WE COULD CRY.
Sadly, it’s looking unlikely that she’ll be performing new single ‘FourFiveSeconds’ alongside Kanye West and Sir Paul McCartney, as it’s reported that they probably won’t be able to make it on the night.
The insider added: “It looks highly likely that Kanye and Macca will both be unable to make the performance too so she could sing an entirely different song.
“FourFiveSeconds would be tough for Rihanna to sing on her own so it’s possible she will debut a new song entirely on the O2 Arena stage.”
However, as much as we’d love to see her perform her new song (which we can’t get out of our heads, by the way), we all know RiRi can rock the stage just fine on her own. Hashtag girl power.
This year’s ceremony, which is being held on the 25th February (put it in your diaries, guys and gals), will be hosted by Ant and Dec, who’ll be keeping everyone in check on the night.
Or at least trying to, anyway.
Speaking of the news that they’d be taking over from four-time host James Corden, the double act said: “We’re really excited to be hosting the BRITs again next year, it is undoubtedly the biggest night in the British music calendar.
“We’re especially excited now we’re No.1 recording artists ourselves.
“We’ll be offering our advice to the fledgling pop stars backstage as to how to have a No.1 hit, as long as they’re prepared to wait 19 years for their records to top the chart like ours did!”
Errr, anyone else thinking perhaps Rihanna could perform ‘FourFiveSeconds’ with Ant and Dec instead?
They are number one record artists after all!
