The 25-year-old, who scooped up her first BRIT last night for Best Solo International Female, admitted to Radio One’s Greg James that things didn’t exactly go to plan mere hours before she was due on stage.
She said: “Its weird I’m your last guest cos I am actually opening the show.
“I am changing into a performance outfit then back into this to watch the show.”
“Rehearsals didn’t go well at all, they accidentally started the music before I was on stage, so I was running out shouting ‘I can show you…’
“They didn’t give me a cue. It is like don’t worry about me, it is not like I am a necessary part of the performance apparently.”
Still, if there was a problem, no one would have known following Taylor’s flawless performance of mega hit ‘Blank space‘.
The Swift was amongst the big winners last night, and was clearly very excited to finally get her hands on a BRIT.
During her acceptance speech, Taylor gushed about all things British – including her close friends.
She said: “Oh my God wow. I’ve been coming to England and playing shows for eight years and this is my first BRIT Award.”
“I’m so happy. I wanna thank Virgin EMI and Universal for sticking with me for eight years. Honestly I know I wouldn’t be up here if it wasn’t for one of my best friends who took me to pubs and taught me how to make a good cup of tea and taught me everything I know about the UK . I just want to say I love you Ed Sheeran, wherever you are. Where is he?
“And I also want to thank my other British friends, Cara and Ellie and Sam, I’m very lucky to have you in my life. I’m very lucky to have British fans who have changed my life, I love you! And I’m very lucky to have my first BRIT Award, thank you so much.”
