Brits 2015: Jessie J Admits She’s ‘Gutted’ At Nominations Snub

She might be one of the UK’s biggest female solo stars, but apparently Jessie J didn’t quite make the cut for this year’s Brit Awards shortlist… and she’s not too happy about it.

The popstar, who was up for Best Female last year, hasn’t picked up ANY noms for the 2015 awards, despite releasing her album at the end of last year.

All a bit awkward.

Jessie told The Mirror: “I was gutted. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t.”

The 26-year-old, who graduated from the Brit School in the same class at Adele and Leona Lewis, seemed to think that more alumni should be honoured.

She added: “It would be nice if they celebrated people who come out of the Brit School and become British pop stars. It is a matter of opinion and choice.

“I always say, ‘You can’t always be on top.’ It’s not my choice, I can’t make people nominate me.”

Many of Jessie’s peers also seemed surprised at her omission from the list, which includes FKA Twigs, Lily Allen, Ella Henderson, Jesse Ware and Paloma Faith.

Ellie Goulding, who did not release an album last year, admitted that she was ‘shocked’ at her pal’s apparent snub.

She recently told Capital: “I was surprised by that because she’s an incredible pop star.

“It sounds weird saying that, but she is. She nails it and she still has one of the most incredible voices in the world. So that shocked me. But I don’t know how the voting works!”

Luckily for Jessie, she HAS picked up a prestigious Grammy Award across the pond in the US, and it’s just been revealed that she’ll be performing on stage at the ceremony with none other than Sir Tom Jones.

Things could be worse, eh, Jess?!
