Despite it being a big change for the family, Caitlyn Jenner‘s children have been super positive about her decision to live as a woman, praising her on social media and showering her with all the love she deserves.
Caitlyn herself is trying to make the transition as easy as possible for her kids, with reports claiming she’s told Kylie, Kendall and the rest of her children that it’s fine to call her ‘dad’ for now, as they get used to everything.
What a bloomin’ wonderful woman, right?
Chatting to People magazine, a source revealed how the 65-year-old is trying to make the transition as smooth as possible, explaining: “[Caitlyn] spoke to each of the kids separately and told them to take their time in getting used to this.
“She would prefer not to be called ‘Bruce,’ but told the kids that they could still call her ‘Dad,’ at least for now.”
They continued: “Caitlyn has been really understanding that it doesn’t come naturally for anyone. No one expects this change to happen overnight. If one of the boys slips up, it’s not a big deal.”
The insider went on to repeat what Cait said in the trailer for her upcoming docu-series, adding: “This is the new normal.
“They all still slip up and refer to Caitlyn as Bruce, or she as he, him, all that. It takes a lot of work to get it right.”
Her eldest children, Brody, Brandon, Burt, and Cassandra, have reportedly refused to take part in ‘I Am Cait’, because they “disagree” with her decision to make the show.
Bizz Bissinger, the journalist who spoke with Cait for her Vanity Fair spread, said: “Despite numerous entreaties from their father as well as the head of E! programming, the Jenner children refuse to participate, forgoing financial gain and exposure in the process.
“At first their decision did not seem to register with Caitlyn. She kept hoping they could be persuaded because she knows from eight years on Keeping Up with the Kardashians the necessity of a family dynamic for ratings success.
“When she realised the decision was final, she became increasingly frustrated and on one occasion hurled profanities. She told me she felt ‘terribly disappointed and terribly hurt’.”
All ten of her children, however, will join her for her red carpet debut on July 15, where she’ll appear at the ESPY Awards to collect the Arthur Ashe Courage Award.
Congratulations on the well-deserved award, Cait!
