Celebrity Big Brother has got off to a pretty scandalous start, with one housemate already being kicked out and another, Ken Morley, having viewers up in arms over the fact that he is still in the show.
The 71-year-old Coronation Street star has offended the nation with his homophobic, misogynistic, and racist comments towards his other housemates, which included one particularly uncomfortable scene that saw the actor call black housemate, Alexander O’Neal, a “n*gro”.
Remaining surprisingly calm by the totally unacceptable language, Alexander explained to Ken that he shouldn’t use that word, only for Ken to argue that he could say it before proceeding to ask Alexander if he knew “what black children are called”.
This genuinely makes us so angry that we are legit stopping every paragraph to take a deep breath and count to ten.
Alexander’s wife, Cynthia, has now waded into the debate and she completely agrees with outraged viewers and reckons that producers need to give Ken the chop.
Speaking to The Sun, Cynthia said: “I can’t believe the choice of words. It’s disgusting, it’s despicable, it’s something that should never come out of anyone’s mouth any more.
“This man is not stupid, this man is ignorant. Those words would not come out of someone’s mouth unless they were racist.”
She went on to add that Ken had “insulted the black race to the fullest extent”, and shared that she thought that he should have been removed from the house as soon as the altercation with her husband took place.
Which we completely agree with.
This isn’t all that Ken has been doing to cause upset in the house, with his fellow contestants being left furious with his anti-semitic remarks and constant sexism and derogatory remarks about women.
After boasting about “groping and grabbing” women in the 80s, Ken went on to tell the shocked contestants that he wanted to go to the bathroom to look at the ladies “a*ses”, Ken caused further offense by calling Cami “half wh*re”, another housemate “half sl*t” and asking Michelle Visage if she wanted to “viciously f*ck” Calum.
All in a day’s work, hm?
However, for some bizarre reason, Big Brother refuse to remove Ken from the house, despite the fact that they were super quick to remove Baywatch star Jeremy Jackson following an incident with Chloe Goodman.
So why is this racist, sexist and hugely offensive character still allowed to be in the house, Big Brother?
Because we would all really, really love to know.
