The drama surrounding Kym Marsh and Dan Hooper’s temporary ‘relationship break’ continues, with Stephanie Waring’s friend Chantelle Houghton now taking a swipe at the couple.
The mum-of-one admitted that she’s not all that surprised that the two are taking space from each other, as she believes they “rushed into” their relationship.
Writing in her new! Magazine column, the 31-year-old wasn’t holding back on her opinion of the split, which comes just five months after Kym and Dan announced their engagement.
She wrote: “I wasn’t surprised when I read Kym Marsh and Dan Hooper had split. I think they rushed into their relationship too quickly. Kym’s obviously the type of woman who does that.”
Saucer of milk, table five, please.
She continued: “Dan’s ex, Stephanie Waring, is a friend of mine and although I haven’t spoken to her since the news broke, I read she’s feeling ‘a mixture of sympathy and relief’.
“That sounds like an understandable and honest reaction to me.”
Kym, 38, and her personal trainer fiancé have taken some time apart temporarily after 18 months together, with the Coronation Street actress explaining that they “both needed space.”
Opening up to OK! magazine, she revealed: “It’s been a really tough and upsetting time.
“It was a really difficult decision for us both to make but something that we mutually felt we had to do, as we both needed some space.”
She also confirmed that they were still talking everyday, adding: “We needed to take a step back, have some time on our own and figure out where things have gone wrong and see if we can fix it – I hope that we can.
“I’ve said in the past that I’ve felt happier with Dan than with anyone and that’s true, but issues come up in relationships and you have to try and deal with them.”
Meanwhile, Dan recently tweeted to say that their engagement had NOT been called off and that they just needed a bit of space.
Fingers firmly crossed that they can sort things out ASAP.
