Yes, following the ‘genius’ joke of blending her sushi and serving it to her as a cocktail, the 54-year-old decided to hire a group of male strippers to frequent the audition room in Edinburgh as a belated birthday surprise for the 31-year-old.
The man is out of control.
Simon’s prank started out with the group of strippers appearing to be an all male vocal group auditioning for the show.
However, it soon became apparent that the men were not there to show off their vocal abilities.
Needless to say, Cheryl was rather embarrassed by the whole thing, visibly blushing as one gyrated a top of the judge’s desk.
Still, it could have been a heck of a lot worse…
Bet you’re glad that didn’t happen aren’t you, Chez?
It as revealed also today in an Elle interview with Cheryl that she believes Simon was right to fire her from the X Factor USA.
She told the mag: “I can talk about this because I’m okay about it now.
“But I went through hell and it literally drove me mad. I became so desensitised, you could say terrible things to me and I wouldn’t even think about it.
“I’d read awful stuff about myself and not blink. I shut down because I didn’t know what else to do.
“Now, I can say that Simon was right to get rid of me. I wasn’t well in the head when that was going on, so it wasn’t going to work. But he wasn’t right not to tell me to my face.”
Perhaps hiring strippers was Simon’s way of saying sorry?
