Cheryl Fernandez-Versini may seem to be holding her own during this year’s X Factor live shows, but behind the scenes it is a very different story.
The 31-year-old beauty, who not only lost contestant Stephanie Nala this weekend but Chloe Jasmine too, has revealed that the stress of the final stages of the competition is getting to her.
She told The Daily Star: “When I did the audition process I sat in the chair and it was like nothing had changed.
“It was like four years had evaporated. When I came to the live shows I thought I was mentally prepared but when the audience gets going and you’re in the adrenalin-fuelled bubble, your heart is pounding.
“I’m like: ‘This is all my responsibility now’. I wasn’t ready for that feeling, it’s very intense because you have people’s dreams on the line and their feelings. I go home and I can’t sleep.”
And it would seem that Simon Cowell isn’t making things any easier for poor Chez, ringing her at the early hours to discuss the show.
Let the poor woman sleep, man!
She added: “Simon likes to call you at three in the morning. He’s there thinking about the show, about pyrotechnics and all that, he’s a perfectionist.
“I think Louis should sit next to him and I should sit next to Mel.”
Relations between Simon and Cheryl seemed to sour somewhat over the weekend after he nicknamed her ‘Kermit’ due to her incredibly green dress.
Not his most witty remark but it seemed to do the job nevertheless as Cheryl wasn’t best impressed if her MazSight was anything to go by.
Sharing a photo of the X Factor judging panel with Kermit photoshopped in her place, Cheryl captioned the snap: “And here I am on the panel last night. This one is especially for those who have no opinion of their own until Simon tells them what they should think #sheep #kermit”
