Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has donated £95,000 to Comic Relief after selling an image of herself wearing comedy spectacles to Specsavers.
Great brand synergy, there.
The image of the 31-year-old comes from her appearance on The Graham Norton show and was snapped up by the glasses giant to be used in store to promote their comedy eye wear range.
And as soon as The Fez-Vez received the monies for the picture, she handed it straight over to Comic Relief.
A source revealed: “Cheryl does lots of work for charity and if she can use her image to help raise money for Comic Relief, which is an organisation that is close to her heart, she is more than happy to do so.”
Earlier this week, Cheryl’s hubby Jean-Bernard went on a slightly awkward Twitter rant about the lack of promotion and radio backing behind her new single ‘Only Human’.
In the VERY gushy post, JB describes his pop star other half as being ‘exceptional’ and ‘inspirational’ and seems pretty miffed as to why her new single ‘Only Human’ isn’t getting the airtime he thinks it deserves.
He wrote: “I would like an answer on how come people don’t push people who deserve it.
“How come somebody as exceptional as my wife has to fight for being the best and even her own management, label and people that decide who goes on the radio don’t move their a****.”
He added: “And being less lazy to promote such an amazing singer, person and creative inspirational human being! Question of the day!”
Yikes – he’s really not a happy bunny.
Making things even MORE awkward, the restaurateur decided to personally name and shame Cheryl’s mate Marvin for not playing the remix enough on Capital FM.
He wrote: “Same goes for Capital. Marvin is a great DJ but I am surprised I don’t hear more Only Human remix when it’s amazing.”
To be fair to Jean, we all can get upset at times. He’s only human after all…
