On Dec. 1, olivia Jade made her return to YouTube after nearly nine months of silence. The video marked the first time that she had spoken publicly since her parents, “Fuller House” actress Lori Loughlin and designer Mossimo Giannulli, had been charged for allegedly participating in the ongoing college admissions scandal.

Both Loughlin and Giannulli have been accused of paying Rick Singer $500,000 so that both Olivia Jade and their other daughter, Isabella Rose, could attend the University of Southern california (USC). At this time, they face charges of mail and wire fraud, honest services mail and wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit federal programs bribery. They have pleaded not guilty.

In the video, titled “hi again,” Olivia quickly referenced the admissions scam and stated that she wanted to begin “taking smaller steps in the right direction.”

Now, a source has revealed to People how she feels about her return to the platform.

“Olivia is very happy to be back,” the insider told the publication, adding, “And relieved – she really has been thinking for months about when she could return. It was never a question if she would return, it was always about when was the appropriate time.”

However, the YouTuber reportedly had to get the green light from several people before she was allowed to post the two-minute clip.

Said a source, “Olivia got the clear from her parents and their lawyer team. She was coached about what she was allowed to say. She carefully followed a script. She seems very excited about starting up her vlog again.”

Olivia’s return to the public eye may come as a surprise to some due to the fact that reports have suggested that she too may be charged in the admissions scandal and that her career could ultimately suffer “catastrophic” consequences.

As for Loughlin, she is said to be taking a particularly “grueling” step in order to prepare for her upcoming trial. Some have speculated that a judge’s recent comments could indicate what the future holds for her. At this time, an insider has additionally revealed that a recommendation has been made regarding her sentence if she were to plead guilty, but she has not taken any formal steps to do so.
