Former EastEnders star Danniella Westbrook has opened up about a very dark time in her life following 2014′s “year from hell”.
The actress, who has openly struggled with cocaine addiction for years, admitted in a heartbreaking interview with The Mirror that her rocky relationship with ex-fiance Tom Richards left her “wanting to die” as she relapsed back into drug addiction.
Danniella explained: “I just wanted to kill myself. I couldn’t get Tom out of my life.
“I was medicating myself. Cocaine has always been my drug of choice. I was using two to three grams a day, which was too much.
“It wasn’t as much as when I was younger, but it was enough to make my body shut down. That’s what I wanted to happen. It nearly worked. I wanted to die.”
The 41 year old has also accused her ex of being abusive and violent, and apparently he used to brag to his friends that he was using Danniella to up his own profile, with Danniella adding: “He’s obsessed with being famous and has told people he was using me to get there, to get on a reality TV show or something like that.
“It’s something I can’t understand about people nowadays. I have made some bad decisions in my life, but he’s the worst decision I have ever made.
“I cannot believe the police have let him off without taking any action. But I won’t stop until something is done and he’s locked up, even if it’s for the sake of other women.”
We are just happy to hear that Danniella is in a much better place now, and we hope that she does end up getting justice for any wrongdoing.
