It’s all change this year.
And as far as David Walliams is concerned, the guest mentors at the Judges’ Houses stage of the X Factor could also do with a refresh.
Yes, it would seem that the Britain’s Got Talent judge is itching to take Sinitta’s usual role as Simon Cowell’s aide.
We doubt she’ll be very happy to hear that.
Speaking to The Sun, David admitted: “I really want to be Simon’s helper at his judges’ home in Barbados.
“I told him I’d come out of his closet but he said no. I won’t be Simon’s favourite girl any more. I will try to temper my jealousy when I watch the new series of X Factor and see Cheryl and Simon being so close.”
So this got us thinking. Who would be our dream guest mentors for the rest of the panel?
Mel B and…. Geri Halliwell
Bare with us on this one. Remember when Geri was a judge in 2012 and she was absolutely bonkers? Remember how desperate she was to land the full time job? Well, this would be the perfect opportunity for the first red head in pop (sorry Ed) to prove to the X Factor bosses how wrong they were to choose Scary over Ginger. And let’s face it, watching Mel struggle to get a word in edgewise isn’t something we’re ever likely to see anytime soon.
Louis Walsh and…. Tulisa
Who doesn’t love a comeback? After finally clearing her name last week, this could be the perfect opportunity for Tulisa to rise from the ashes of her career. She’s got the experience, she’s even won before, and most importantly, she is one of the very few people in the world who can handle Louis Walsh. Bring back Tulisa.
Cheryl and… Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini
So he may not exactly know much about the music business, but the man certainly has an eye for potential – you don’t own a successful chain of pop up restaurants across Europe by chance after all. OK, we admit it, all we want to see is the newlyweds try and decipher each other’s accents while staring lovingly into each other’s eyes. Is that too much to ask?!
