That sound you just heard? Hearts breaking. Everywhere.
Rapper Drake has had to pull out of his headline appearances at Wireless Festival this weekend due to illness. The 27-year-old artist was booked to play the Saturday headline slot at Wireless London and the Friday slot in Birmingham.
The news officially broke in a news announcement on the Wireless Festival website earlier today, following swirling rumours that the Canadian star had dropped out from earlier this week.
In the news post Drake passed on the following message to his fans: “To my beloved fans, it truly breaks my heart that I won’t be able to perform as planned at Wireless and Roskilde this weekend. I got sick a few days ago and although I am on my way to bouncing back, my doctors have made it clear that I am not physically fit to fly or deliver the performance my fans expect and deserve from me. I will be focused on resting for a quick recovery. I have the best fans in the world and I can’t wait to come back to make more incredible memories together.”

Festival organisers Live Nation have quickly retooled the line up to ensure festival goers are still getting their moneys worth. London will be treated to a second performance from mega star Kanye West on Saturday night while Birmingham will be rocking to a headline performance from Rudimental who will be joined by as of yet unannounced special guests.
The weekend will also see performances from Bruno Mars, Iggy Azalea, Outkast, Knife Party and more.
