EastEnders: Jo Joyner Tweets That She’s #Gutted After Fluffing Lines In Live Episode

We’re pretty sure there’s a law of physics than any form of live TV will come with some sort of embarrassing, awkward or general unplanned mess of a moment – EVEN if that show is called EastEnders and you’re right in the middle of a week of revelations.

Yep, we still haven’t found out who the heck killed Lucy Beale, but that was the least of Jo Joyner’s worries last night after she fluffed her lines and called Ian Beale by the actor’s real name, Adam Woodyatt.

Hello Twitter going wild about ‘How’s Adam?’ and a tweet from Jo herself announcing that she was ‘gutted’ about the whole thing. Naturally.

Poor Jo probably had SO much to remember with her comeback and we actually really felt for her in that #awkward moment!

Even if we did chuckle JUST A LITTLE BIT.

Jo, who returned to the show as Tanya Branning for Jane’s big day, suffered the embarrassing moment when she visited Jane Beale with a glass of Buck’s Fizz ahead of her Wedding to Ian.

But instead of asking “How’s Ian?” she accidentally asked “How’s Adam?”

Cue Laurie Brett, who plays Jane, looking more confused and lost than the first day we went walking on our Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

It was amazing, it was awkward, it was genius and we didn’t quite know how to react. Just like Laurie and Jo, actually.

Taking to Twitter after the cringeworthy moment, she joked: “You never answered me @LauriebrettX how is @AdamWoodyatt?”

Laurie found the funny side and showed support for Jo in her reply, tweeing: “Love you Jo, you’re the best. And the nation loved it xx”

Yes. Yes we did. And we think the whole experience has made us love Jo even more, too,

Maybe it was the Buck’s Fizz!

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, Jo DID eventually get her reply from Adam, who informed her that he was in fact “fine.”

It wasn’t just the actors and actresses involved that were tweeting about the incident though, with viewers of the soap going pretty crazy over the whole thing seconds after it happened.

There was a mixture of responses, from supporting: “You handled it with aplomb! It was wonderful to see you back,” to general amusement: “Tanya messed her line up!! She said how’s Adam instead of Ian Hahahaha.”

One user wrote: “I don’t even care who killed Lucy. I just wanna know how Adam is. We never got an answer. #HowsAdam?”
