Soap fans across the country are counting down the days, hours and minutes until Lucy Beale’s killer is unmasked during the highly-anticipated live episode of EastEnders next month.
And now BBC bosses have treated us to a very special, brand new 30th anniversary trailer, leaving us in need of a large gin and tonic and a lie down.
The VERY creepy new clip includes a ghostly Lucy Beale hovering above the square and her roll-call of potential murders… but does it give away any new info?
With an immediately supernatural tone, the prime suspects are the first to appear on the screen… including a typically shifty looking Max Branning and his increasingly unnerving daughter, Abi.
Freaked out by swings moving by themselves and Minute Mart bottle tops popping off on their own accord (making a break for freedom after 30 years on the same shelf?!), the trailer seems to reinforce the fact that these two are still firmly in the frame.
So are the entire Beale family, it would seem, as they all look on in horror as two hand prints spookily appear on the windows of the chippie.
Although Jane serving a saveloy in full stage make-up may well be the most unsettling thing about that scene.
While it’s the most talked about characters who take centre stage in the new trailer, we can’t help thinking that those naughty BBC bosses are just trying to keep us on our toes.
Outside bets Whitney Dean and Lee Carter can also be seen creeping suspiciously around Albert Square, as can Denise, Kat and Alfie, and the Carter clan.
But the most unnerving part of the super scary new advert is an eerie Lucy Beale looming menacingly above them all… pretty much scaring the bejeezus out of us.
We think that those craft EastEnders folks may still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
