STOP and drop everything (well, maybe not literally if you’ve got a cup of tea or something in your hands), because Ed Sheeran has performed a song on Sesame Street and it’s the most adorable thing ever created.
Whether you’re a Sheerio or not, we can pretty much guarantee that not only will your eyes water and hearts melt with the cuteness, but you’ll also probably have this tune in your head for the rest of the day.
Whoever decided Sesame Street songs had to be ridiculously catchy deserves a medal.
Also, if this isn’t number one in the next few weeks, Eddy’s been robbed quite frankly.
The 24-year-old has been teasing this performance for a mere year and a half, but FINALLY we have ‘Two Different worlds’ in our ears, eyes and hearts, and it’s everything we hoped it could be.
And so much more, really.
Forming a dream team with Abby, Elmo, Grover, Murray Monster, and Cookie Monster, E was for Ed as he taught children how to behave at home and at school, something he filmed back in October 2013.
Because you have to behave differently in the two different environments y’know. You learn something new every day.
Even though we’re very much past school age, we couldn’t help but be totally hooked on Ed and his gang teaching us (and showing us) the different ways to act.
Probably helps that Eddy looks like an adorable and proud puppy throughout the whole ruddy thing, to be honest. LOVE. HIM.
In case you missed any of Ed’s education because you were too busy looking at his face, here’s his lesson about how to talk at home and at school: “At home I can speak whenever I please/I can talk real loud and shoot the breeze.
“At school I raise my hand in the air when there’s something that I want to share.”
Wise words, Eddy.
We’ve already listened to this approximately 25 times and it’s safe to say it’s firmly stuck in our heads thanks to it being ridiculously catchy.
Sorry not sorry to anyone catching us singing this around the house. Or the office. Or just anywhere, really.
And it looks like others had the same heart-eyed emoji reaction as us, with one Twitter user writing: “Ed Sheeran + Sesame Street = Perfection.”
Another said: “I seriously needed something to make me smile,” posting a link to the video.
Ed Sheeran wins, everyone else go home.
