As IF bringing Ant and Dec back as hosts wasn’t enough to quench our musical thirst for next year’s BRIT Awards, it’s been announced that Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift AND Sam Smith will all be hopping on stage to give us a show we’ll never forget.
Can we just skip Christmas and New Year and go straight to February please? We can have presents then right?
ARGH WE’RE SO EXCITED WE COULD DO A LITTLE WEE.
Despite the fact that no nominees have actually been announced yet, next year’s award season looks set to belong to Edlayam (alright, we tried to make a clever name for Ed, Taylor and Sam and it didn’t work, OKAY?!), after they all recently received nominations for 2015′s GRAMMYs.
They’ve already got all the awards in our book, but alright.
The three stooges will grace the stage at The O2 on February 25th next year, and we’re genuinely already bouncing up and down on our seats in excitement – especially after we relived Tay’s ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ BRITs performance from back in 2013.
Probably going to spend the day re-watching that to be honest. SO GOOD.
Judging by how many GRAMMY nominations Sam and Ed picked up, it looks like the two could battle it out for ‘Best British Male’ at the BRITs ceremony too, as they’ve both had pretty ruddy incredible years.
Eddy spoke to Yahoo Celebrity about how the two celebrated their American nominations, explaining: “[Sam Smith] and I went out for lunch and had a catch-up and celebrated but in the evening when I found out I had the Best Album nomination I went wild.
“I went to a dive bar and just ended up outside and I ordered loads of rounds of Jagerbombs for everyone. People I hadn’t even met, I was just buying drinks for everyone outside. It was good.
“I had this huge metal mug that I’d stolen and I was just filling it with champagne and drinking it like it was beer. It was a mad night.”
Cray. Better get the champagne orders in for the BRITs now then!
But don’t worry, we’re sure 2015′s host Ant and Dec will keep everyone in check during the live ceremony.
Maybe. Alright, so we’ll admit it would be WAY more fun if everything got a bit mental. What can we say?!
Speaking of the news that they’d be taking over from four-time host James Corden, the double act said: “We’re really excited to be hosting the BRITs again next year, it is undoubtedly the biggest night in the British music calendar.
“We’re especially excited now we’re No.1 recording artists ourselves.
“We’ll be offering our advice to the fledgling pop stars backstage as to how to have a No.1 hit, as long as they’re prepared to wait 19 years for their records to top the chart like ours did!”
Please please PLEASE let them open the stage with a performance of Let’s Get Ready to Rhumble!
We cannot WAIT until February now – bring on the trio!
