Ed Sheeran has again proved why we all love him dearly by responding to Noel Gallagher‘s mean Wembley Stadium comments in the nicest, politest way possible.
He’s just a little darling, isn’t he?
Earlier this week, Noel hit out at the flame-haired singer’s AMAZING achievement of selling out THREE Wembley Stadium shows, saying that he’s ‘baffled’ by it and doesn’t think he can live in a world where it happens.
Oh, hush up.
Taking to Twitter, the 23-year-old singer replied to a tweet containing Noel’s quotes, simply writing: “i can live in it, its really enjoyable [sic].”
Kind of passive-agressive but mainly just polite and friendly.
Can we all just be a little bit more like Eddy?! That would be fab.
Noel’s original, harsh comments came in an interview with NME, where he was discussing how Ed has sold a quarter of a MILLION tickets for his summer shows.
Incredible achievement, right?
Noel doesn’t seem to think so, telling the magazine: “I don’t think I can live in a world where that’s even possible.
“When you hear that kind of polished pop and then there’s a ginger guy with a f**king guitar it seems subversive, but it’s f**king not.”
Errrr, does Noel not like gingers or something? Shame, because judging by how many tickets Ed’s sold, quite a lot of people ruddy well do.
The 47-year-old musician continued to moan about the so-called ‘terrible’ state of music (it’s actually doing alright in our eyes, but sure), blasting pop music and explaining: “It’s not all over, but it’ll go back to the way it was in the early ’80s where indie bands are the alternative thing, the lower level.
“In the early ’80s everyone at indie labels, even major labels, were trying to push this music to the fore because everything else was s**t, and maybe it’ll happen again, but I don’t see it for the next decade.”
Until then, we’re quite happy having Ed at the forefront of brilliant British music.
Do we detect a strong hint of jealousy, Noel?
