While Elizabeth Banks’ career has been going from strength to strength over the years, the same could perhaps not be said for fellow actress Tara Reid.
The 41-year-old Hunger games actress was recounting the beginnings of her career, explaining that not all her peers back then have gone on to have successful careers.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter magazine, Banks recalled: “There was a group of us girls coming up. A lot of us are surviving. Some of us are not.
“I used to go to auditions with Tara Reid. So, you know, we didn’t all make it. We’re not all still here.”
Didn’t make it? Pffft. Tara is BFFs with Jedward for crying out loud!
However, it would seem that Elizabeth quickly realised what she was saying, adding: “I do love Sharknado.”
To be fair, who doesn’t love Sharknado?
Next month Elizabeth will be making her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2, in which she also stars.
Speaking of the very small list of feature film female directors, the funny woman admitted that she doesn’t think of herself ‘in that club yet,’ until the film is a critical and commercial success.
“The list of women who get to make studio-level films is very short,’ she said. “And I’m not quite in that club yet. Until this movie comes out, then we’ll see. This shoot is the test. I like to get A’s.
“I went through no hoops for this particular job. I just put myself right at the spot where someone needed to be to get the job. And I prepared.
“I knew I wanted to direct, so I met DPs, I ran sets, I chose music. I went through the process of directing in little ways — nothing too big or risky or time-consuming. I just started really observing.”
