She’s clearly head over heels with her new man.
But thanks to online trolls, FKA Twigs’ new romance with Robert Pattinson has been dampened, after becoming the target of racist abuse.
The 26-year-old singer/songwriter, real name Tahliah Debrett Barnett, has taken to Twitter to voice her shock over comments she has received on the social networking site.
This is not the first time that she has spoken out about dealing with racism. Speaking to Dazed & Confused magazine, the singer spoke of what it was like to go to a catholic school as the only mixed race pupil.
She revealed: “People said horrible things about something I had no control of, which was tough. But that’s okay. Life isn’t supposed to be easy, is it?
“I never really saw anything wrong with how I looked, it was more that certain people pointed things out to you about yourself.
“Either your hair’s different, or the colour of your skin, or your features. Half of my life I’ve had people staring at me because they think I’m funny-looking and ugly.”
FKA and R-Patz seemed to confirm their romance last week after they were pictured in public holding hands.
While the pair are yet to officially confirm that they’re an item, we’re pretty sure that these pics speak volumes… we think things are definitely on!
Ignore the small minded haters, FKA, and enjoy your new romance!
