And Charlotte Church thought she had it bad.
Poor old Frankie Cocozza of X Factor fame has revealed on Twitter (where else?) that he only has 78p to his name.
Yes, despite making a reported £30,000 for his 2012 appearance on Celebrity Big Brother, the shamed X Factor contestant now seems to have fallen on hard times after not being able to go on a night out.
He tweeted one of his friends: “Hope you had a dirty one last night. Let me know when you’re back. If I didn’t have 78p to my name I would have joined.”
So this got us thinking, what happens when the X Factor dream doesn’t quite work out the way you’d hope?
Here’s what some of the most controversial contestants of all time have been up to of late….
Despite rubbing most viewers up the wrong way, we always had a soft spot for eccentric Katie (yelling sod it and sitting down on the floor half way through her save me song was just one of her many excellent moments). However, since being booted off the show in 2010 Katie hasn’t quite hit the big time. Beating Cheryl Cole’s record, she wed her model boyfriend of just two months in 2012, only to divorce ten weeks later. But don’t worry, she’s doing just fine if this recent MazSight snap is anything to go by…
Another eccentric who eventually managed to win the public over before her departure from the 2011 series. Since leaving the show, Kitty has been quietly working on her debut album via Pledge Music where fans help fund the record. She has recently confirmed her first single ‘Glitter In The Sky’ is set for release in September. She’s also a fan of aging gracefully….
The first winner of The X Factor notoriously fell out with Simon Cowell, slating him and the show at any moment possible. Second album ‘40,000 Things’ reached the dizzying heights of number 165, shifting just 3,652 copies. Still, that’s more than Robin Thicke’s latest effort. Like Kitty, he has recently launched his third album via Pledge Music. Oh and just the other day, THIS happened…
Remember when no one could work out why Christopher ‘I love me nan’ Maloney kept sailing through every week in 2012’s X Factor? Remember hearing the collective sigh of relief across the nation when the lunacy ended and he finally finished third? Well, since then Christopher hasn’t exactly had the most successful of careers with his only single ‘My Heart Belongs to You’ failing to chart in the top 100 last year. In his spare time Christopher likes to take pictures of his dinner…
What haven’t these two done? Since finishing fifth in the 2009 series of the show, the twins have produced four albums, two Eurovision entries and a stint in the Big Brother house. In recent news, they were saved from drowning earlier this month after a late night walk on the beach ended in near disaster. Don’t worry Jedward fans, they’re fine now.
