There’s a whole lotta love going around today courtesy of America’s gay marriage legislation. And Lena Dunham might be about to make her own love affair official.
The ‘Girls’ star always said she wouldn’t get engaged to boyfriend Jack Antonoff until all 50 American states allowed same-sex marriage.
And with today’s ruling from the Supreme Court of the United States, she made it very clear she was ready to have that ring put on her finger.
Taking to Twitter to make her feelings on the matter clear, the 28-year-old, posted a very suggested “Get on it, yo” to her beau.
Her man Jack has yet to respond (Twitter proposal, anyone?) but did hit the social platform himself to share his joy at the news.
Comedy actress and author Lena previously responded to rumours of an engagement by telling radio host Howard Stern she didn’t think it was fair on her younger sister Grace.
She told him: “My sister’s gay and it just doesn’t feel good to me to do something she can’t do.”
She later added in an interview on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show: “Well, it’s something that … the idea of having a celebration that can’t be fully shared among all the people in my life and all the people that we love just doesn’t really feel like a celebration at all.
“So, until that’s something that everyone can join into with no sense of being left out on any level, politically, emotionally, it’s just not something that we’re gonna do.”
