Gemma Atkinson’s Got Her Abs Out Again, Get Your Motivation Faces On

In need of some post-luncheon gymspiration? No, us neither.

But that won’t stop us scrolling endlessly through the latest snaps of Gemma Atkinson showing off her killer abs in her latest USA Pro campaign for their AW14 collection.

The former Hollyoaks actress is renowned for her love of Fitness (which obvs earned her the USA Pro job in the first place) – and she’s not afraid to show it off.

Well, frankly, why the heck not?

Just a couple of weeks after showing off her bikini body on holiday, the 29-year-old has got her six pack out again for the brand new promo shots.

Sporting a variety of cropped tops and capri workout pants, Gemma has the fitness-model-chic look nailed, striking a series of ‘action’ poses for the campaign.

Gemma, who’s a lover of lifting weights – LOVE HER!, recently admitted she never deprives herself of an awesome cheat meal, usually in the form of pizza or doughnuts… or both.

She told the Daily Star: “I love a pizza or doughnuts as much as the next person but I tend to have them as a cheat meal as opposed to a cheat day.

“If I’m having pizza for tea I’ll still eat clean for breakfast or lunch.”

Gemma turned to fitness after struggling with confidence issues during her glamour modelling days, admitting she’s heavier now than she ever was, but it’s ALLLLL muscle.

Last year, she told Closer: “I’m the happiest, most confident I’ve ever been. I’ve got so much energy.

“I wake up feeling ready to go, rather than thinking, ‘I’m so tired, I can’t face anything!’ … The important thing is to be strong and lean yet feminine, not too skinny or muscly. I don’t think it’s attractive.

“When I became an actress, my good intentions got sidelined. Hollyoaks was an amazing time in my life, but it was always someone’s birthday or we were out drinking, then eating McDonald’s to ease the hangover.

“Working long hours meant I was eating the wrong things at the wrong time. I was tired and my skin was spotty. I went up to a size 12-14 and was about 10st, which is lighter than I am now, but it was fat rather than muscle.

“A size 12-14 isn’t big, but it was more about how I felt. I hated my legs, and I felt down about how I looked.”

Gemma eventually turned to ‘nutrition’ instead of diets to get in shape with the help of her PT boyfriend Olly Foster, insisting living with a PT isn’t the horror we’d all imagine it to be.

She said: “I got my fitness mojo back at 22 when I learnt about nutrition. Over the past six years I’ve completely changed my lifestyle.”

WHERE IS OUR MOTIVATION?

Gemma works out six days a week and takes Sundays off for chips and pizza, but her usual diet consists of salmon and eggs without toast for breakfast, followed by chicken with veg and brown rice for lunch and fish and veg for dinner.

And instead of gobbling down sugary snacks, she sticks to nuts, hummous and eggs when she gets peckish.

She says: “A lot of people believe they can eat crap because they go to the gym, or they don’t eat as they want to look skinny. But in doing either, you’ll affect your energy levels and get mood swings.”

Feeling motivated yet? Luncheon gym session, anyone?
