He usually stays tight-lipped when the rumour mill starts spinning.
But it seems that George Clooney was SO FURIOUS about the latest story involving his love life that he’s decided to take matters into his own hands.
The husband-to-be has slammed an exclusive report by The Daily Mail, which claimed to have insider information about a rift between George and fiancee Amal Alamuddin’s mother… IN A BIG WAY.
A source told the paper that Baria thought that the A-lister ‘wasn’t good enough’ for her daughter, suggesting that it had something to do with her strict religious sect and was bad-mouthing him in Beirut.
And George is NOT a happy bunny about the whole thing, blasting the paper for ‘inciting hatred.’
In a statement made to USA Today, he writes: “First of all, factually none of the story is true. Amal’s mother is not Druze.
“She has not been to Beirut since Amal and I have been dating, and she is in no way against the marriage, but none of that is the issue.”
He continues: “If they fabricate stories of Amal being pregnant, or the marriage is on the set of Downton Abbey, or that I’m running for office, or any number of idiotic stories that they sit at their computers and invent, I don’t care.
“The irresponsibility, in this day and age, to exploit religious differences where none exist, is at the very least negligent and more appropriately dangerous.
“We have family members all over the world, and the idea that someone would inflame any part of that world for the sole reason of selling papers should be criminal.”
Wow – he is seriously fuming!
The explosive new statement comes after an undisclosed source told The Mail:
“You would think Amal has hit the jackpot with George Clooney, but Baria is not happy.
“She thinks Amal can do better. She has been telling half of Beirut, in fact anyone that will listen, there are five hundred thousand Druze. Are none of them good enough for her?”
Despite the rumours, it sounds like Wedding bells ARE still on the horizon – phew!
