Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick To Make TV Comeback As Murderer In New Pilot = Minds Blown

It’s been two years, two months and 24 days since Chuck Bass last sauntered across our screens in an impeccably tailored suit, shiny brogues and a jaunty neckerchief.

And while we thought the gaping Gossip Girl-shaped chasm in our lives would never close, it’s just been announced that Ed Westwick will be returning to our screens in a brand new pilot.

world order restored.

It seems that our prayers have finally been answered with ABC’s crime drama about a Bonnie and Clyde-style killer couple.

How the heck did we survive the last couple of years without The Westwick’s chiseled mug on our TV every week?!

According to reports, the 27-year-old British star will be playing one of the serial killers in the ‘LA Crime’ pilot, marking his return to bad boy form.

The Bass is back, people! Kind of.

While Chuck *ahem* Ed, has starred in a couple of films since the end of GG, this will be his big TV comeback (hopefully) and we’re predicting all kinds of dark, brooding action.

Word on the street is that the show will follow two detectives (played by Gabriel Luna and Adam Rothenberg) who track killers Kent and Betty through 1980s LA.

While Ed is yet to officially confirm his role in the pilot, Parenthood star Erika Christensen revealed that she will be playing his killer sidekick.

She tweeted on Wednesday: “Had our (pretty damn fun) table read for LA Crime, which may change titles… #gossip @ABCNetwork.”

This just gets better and better.

His former Gossip Girl co-star Chace Crawford is also set to return to TV screens this year after landing a lead role in ABC’s ‘Bloom’, about the biggest oil discovery in American history.

Are we edging that little bit closer to that on-screen reunion? We can only dream.
