Grammys 2015: Beck Was ‘So Excited’ By Kanye West’s Stage Invasion

Whilst we’ve all been up in arms over Kanye West storming the Grammys stage yet again when his pal Beyonce didn’t win, this year’s victim of The Kanye Show, Beck, didn’t actually mind.

Yeah, you go back to 2009 and tell that to Taylor Swift, love.

Although this time around Kanye was just poking fun at himself when he went up on stage as Beck was awarded with the Album Of The Year prize, the 44-year-old isn’t annoyed that Kim Kardashian‘s husband hogged pretty much all of his limelight.

The musician said of the whole hoo-haa: “I was just so excited he was coming up.

“He deserves to be on stage as much as anybody.

“How many great records has he put out in the last five years, right?

“I still love him and I think he’s a genius – I aspire to do what he does.”

Well, ‘genius’ isn’t exactly what we would dub Kanye, but each to their own…

Rather modestly, or maybe to appease the genius that is Kan, Beck went on to insist that he actually agreed with the 36-year-old’s opinion, when asked whether Bey should have won his trophy the singer replied: “Absolutely. I thought she was going to win.

“Come on, she’s Beyonce!”

Although the whole debacle onstage was made out to be a jokey reference to the time he ruined Tay-Swizzle’s night, he carried on the performance backstage at last night’s ceremony, ranting to E! News: “I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists, to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us.

“We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyonce.

“Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration.

“And we as musicians have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyonce album and they feel like it takes them to another place…

“You all know when it meant when ‘Ye walked on that stage.”

Two things: 1. He genuinely said that Beck should have given his Grammy to Bey?? Doesn’t she have enough of her own??

2. He just referred to himself as ”Ye’. We can’t deal.

Ah well, at least Beck didn’t let Kanye’s dramz ruin his night, he just better sleep with one eye open to make sure that the award doesn’t mysteriously disappear…
