Celebrities are often faced with a tough question or two on the red carpet, but when Taylor Swift was faced with one of the most awkward questions/statements we’ve ever heard at the Grammys 2015, her reaction was everything.
Away from *that* priceless video of Pharrell Williams giving TayTay some serious side eye thanks to her impeccable dancing talents, Taylor has been making Grammy-related headlines for pretty much shutting down a reporter who reckoned she’d be leaving the ceremony ‘with lots of men.’
No seriously, someone ACTUALLY said that to Taylor. Because that’s not awkward at all.
In the clip below, which might make you feel more second-hand embarrassment than ever, entertainment Tonight host Nancy O’Dell says to Queen Tay: “I just wanted to show the legs, because as I was telling you ahead of time, I think you’re going to walk home with more than just a trophy tonight. I think lots of men.”
Not one to get in a fluster about it though, Tay, 25, responded as cool as a cucumber, giving Nancy a quick stare before saying: “I’m not going to walk home with any men tonight… I’m going to go hang out with my friends and then I go home to the cats. Men get me in trouble.”
She knew this interview could be trouble when she walked in etc etc.
We’re not entirely sure what we’d do if we were faced with a similar statement, so bravo, Taylor, for handling the situation like the top babe you are.
And for then posing for this photo:
Elsewhere at the event, Taylor managed to make friends with Kanye West after the whole VMAs incident of 2009.
Looking absolutely stunning in her gorgeous teal gown, Tay buddied up for some cute photos together, with Kanye even cracking a smile. Who knew?
Organisers also managed to steer clear of any potential drama between Tay and supposed not-so-BFF Katy Perry, working their backsides off to keep the two supposedly feuding popstars well away from each other at the event.
An insider told Us weekly that the event was so well organised, any celebs who didn’t *quite* get along were able to avoid each other from the moment they hit the red carpet to the moment they left.
They said: “The organizers are doing their best to make sure certain people sit as far away from each other as possible.
“They are also making sure that those who are feuding or dislike each other don’t cross paths in rehearsals — which makes for a very complicated rehearsal schedule over the weekend!”
Good work, team.
From now on, we’re just going to ask Taylor about her adorable cats on any red carpet ever and be done with it. Because who doesn’t like talking about cute fluffy animals, eh?
