If we had our way, we’d make some sort of law that One Direction had to stay together as group until our we were grey and old enough to not remember who they are anymore (i.e that’s never ACTUALLY going to happen. We’ll always remember who they are).
But reports are today claiming that Harry Styles is looking to move from music to movies and is ‘in talks’ with big-time movie director Harvey Weinstein to make himself known in the Hollywood hills.
OBVIOUSLY this isn’t the first time we’ve all gone a little cray-cray over rumours that one of the lads is looking to ditch the band for a whole new type of career, so we’re going to go ahead and assume Harry and his luscious locks will be staying put in the band for a while yet.
Still, according to Harvey, the 20-year-old will one day conquer the movie scene as well as has the music scene, as he believes Harry is “super-charismatic.”
Tell us something we don’t know.
Talking to The Sun, Harvey explained: “There’s no question he will enter the movie business. I get from him that he wants to. When you meet him, he’s super-charismatic.
“He came to our Oscars party last year and then I went out to lunch with him.
“I’ve met him two or three times and he was very interested and charming. I think the guy is a movie star.”
Having already witnessed his acting skills in 1D’s addictive music videos, we’ve got no doubt that Harry would most definitely be darn good at the acting thing.
Luckily, rumours are claiming that our favourite curly haired musician’s career move won’t be end of One Direction, with Harvey revealing that Harry’s already turned down a film role for the band’s tour.
What a babe.
The legendary director admitted: “We offered him a part and he couldn’t do the movie because he had the tour. The amount of money their tour did is crazy, so he’s got obligations.”
If and when Harry decides to become the next big actor, Harvey’s got some roles in mind, and even explained that the singer “doesn’t even have to audition.” Lucky boy.
Harvey said: “You know he’s a dashing rogue — a fun-loving, spirited kind of actor that used to be in England all the time.
“Like David Niven or Douglas Fairbanks, he’s got that vibe, he really does.”
As much as we enjoyed seeing those curly locks on the big screen for One Direction’s films, we’re much happier with him staying in the world of music for now. And we certainly can’t deal with thoughts that he could leave the UK for good..
DON’T GO, HARRY. Please and thanks.
