Harry Styles has tweeted a heartfelt message to his Jewish fans ahead of the celebration of Hanukkah, which starts this evening.
The 20-year-old popstar is not actually Jewish, but has openly celebrated and discussed Jewish holidays and lifestyles in the past, much to his fans’ delight.
This afternoon the heartthrob wrote: “Polishing my dreidel and searching for oil. Chanukah sameach everybody. H”

And if the thought of little Harry polishing his dreidel doesn’t make your heart melt then we don’t know what will.
P.S. To save any non-Jewish readers the googling, ‘Chanukah sameach’ translates to ‘Jewish Greetings’.
We literally love when he makes the effort to speak Hebrew.
Despite not being born into Judaism, Harry’s involvement with the Jewish faith still saw the singer’s name get listed in the ‘Top 100 Influential Figures In Jewish Life’ earlier this year, and if this latest tweet is anything to go by, Hazza is keen to keep that title.
The One Direction star came 73rd in the list created by The Jewish Chronicle, the UK’s number one Jewish newspaper, ahead of Rabbi’s, spiritual leaders, and communal activists.
Explaining the reason behind his place in the list, The Jewish Chronicle cited: “The One Direction star may not be Jewish but he seems very much at ease with a Jewish lifestyle.
“He was pictured wearing a silver Star of David at the Teen Choice awards and makes regular references to Jewish life on Twitter, hangs out at kosher eateries and is not afraid to throw the odd Yiddish word or two into the conversation.
“Thanks to his close relationship with Jewish music video director Ben Winston, his Jewish knowledge is stronger than one has any right to expect from a 20-year-old boy-band singer from rural Cheshire.
“Thanks to Styles, millions of British teens have become familiar with Purim, Pesach and shepping nachas.”
Well, there we go… And actually, they do kind of have a point.
If there is one kind of celeb that we love, it’s a celeb that embraces and publically respects a whole load of different cultures.
We always said that Harry was an all-round good egg, and we’re pretty sure that the Jewish community appreciate his well-wishes ahead of their biggest religious holiday.
Chanukah sameach to you, Harry – and any other people who are celebrating!
