After Meghan Markle married Prince Harry, many outsiders believed she would become the next Princess Diana. However, after her appearance at Wimbledon, US actress Tatum O’Neal slammed the Duchess of Sussex’s diva behavior.

The Academy Award winner called out Meghan’s “Tacky” security demands following her July 4 appearance at Wimbledon. While O’Neal admitted she had hoped Meghan would be similar to Princess Diana, she was left disappointed when she learned there were certain rules she would have to follow while in the Duchess’ presence.

During an appearance on “God Day Britain, O’Neal told Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid she was upset when a member of Meghan’s security team told Wimbledon attendees not to photograph the former “Suits” star.

“You’re now one of the people, you‘re a royal, you are not an actor. To have a bodyguard muscle somebody out I just think is so tacky,” O’Neal revealed.

The actress noted that Meghan’s behavior at the event was a far cry from how Princess Diana acted during public outings. “It’s so upsetting to me, because if you think of Princess Diana and you think of how absolutely inclusive she was, and she would never turn anyone away,” she explained

“I just I had so much hope for Meghan. I wanted her to be the next Princess Diana, and it just seems like it’s all about her and it’s really upsetting me,” the former “Sex and the City” star added.

Morgan later claimed Meghan was acting like a celebrity, rather than a member of the royal family. “You’re public people, all of you, in that moment you’re public people, stop your squealing about privacy, we don’t want to hear it. If you want to be private, go back to America and live privately,” he said.

Since Meghan has joined the royal family she and Prince Harry have continued to stray from royal traditions. While the couple seems intent on following their own path, it appears some royal fans would prefer them to stick to tradition.
