Ok, so we admit we might have given our own opinion when Gemma Collins spectacularly left I’m A Celebrity after just three short days, but we never knew so many other celebs would be lining up to do the same.
After Lauren Goodger slammed her ex-TOWIE co-star for the “wasted opportunity,” former campmate Amy Willerton has come forward to give her opinion on the whole thing.
Erm, anyone else?!
At least Amy’s got her own jungle experiences to draw on, we guess.
The 22-year-old spoke to Mirror Celebs to give her thoughts on Gem’s dramatic exit, and admitted that she actually feels more disappointed in the TOWIE star than anything else.
She said: “I think Gemma did what she thought was best for her. I was disappointed.
“I think we all were because the idea of the show is that you do go in and you do push yourself to your limit and you do expose that raw emotion of self and that’s why we love seeing people go through it.”
Amy’s got a point – we ruddy LOVE seeing the celebs push themselves to their limits in the middle of a bug-infested jungle floor.
Sorry not sorry.
She added: “I think she gave in a little early.
“I don’t think she was ever going to stay that long because I think mentally you could see her heart just wasn’t in it.”
She left her heart in the hills of Essex, basically. And let’s be honest, it must be pretty tough not being able to get a fake tan or vajazzle just around the corner.
Vajazzle made from leaves and crickets anyone?
MOVING ON, and Amy also reminisced on her own “life-changing” experience, admitting that what she learnt was a lot different to what Gemma was learning.
She explained: “What we saw on camera was Gemma saying ‘ I don’t want to play up cameras, I don’t want to be this character any more’.
“I think she felt going in that she has to be somebody she’s not whereas I suppose I treated the jungle as my chance to show people who I was because people didn’t know me before.
“The jungle was the most amazing experience, it launched me into the British public’s eyes and the national media, it was great for me.”
Not that the super public relationship with a certain Joey Essex helped AT ALL. Ahem.
Still, Amy’s got a point and we still maintain our thoughts that Gemma will come to regret her hasty decision.
So, anyone else got something to say about this? MIGHT AS WELL.
