I’m A Celebrity 2014: Craig Charles Departure Leaves The Camp Devastated And ‘In Tears’

Craig Charles left the I’m A Celebrity 2014 camp devastated as he announced his shock departure following the sudden death of his brother.

It was revealed on Wednesday night that the 49-year-old was leaving the jungle due to his brother’s sudden death, but it appears that he had already made a positive impact on the camp in his short time there, with several celebs choking back tears as he big them goodbye.

Nadia and Carl Fogerty in particular looked like a wrecking ball had hit them as the Corrie Actor told his fellow celebs he would be leaving the jungle.

Nadia seemed completely devastated at his departure, and said to the other celebs how grateful she was for all of Craig’s support during their time in the Celebrity Slammer together.

She said: “He held my hand through some tough moments in the first few days so it’s sad that he’s not going to be around, I thought I’d be out of here before him. I’ll miss him.”

While a distraught and emotional Vicki said that Craig leaving was a “huge loss” to the camp, saying afterwards: “We’re all going to miss him, we got really upset.”

Even the usually stoic Michael Buerk seemed upset, as he summed up the camp’s reaction to the bad news, saying: “It’s terrible for him and it is sad for us too really, because he was a great guy to have around.”

Earlier this week TOWIE star Gemma Collins sensationally quit the jungle after only 72 hours to little fuss from the other celebs, while in contrast, the sudden and sad departure of Craig (which came only a day later) has clearly left the camp a more subdued place – for the time at least.

But the camp won’t be getting too quiet, as the sudden arrival of Edwina Currie and Jake Quickenden is sure to cause some friction.
