We don’t like to blow our own trumpets, but when TOWIE‘s Gemma Collins quit I’m A Celebrity after just three days, we quickly predicted that she’d eventually HUGELY regret her decision.
Well, LO AND BEHOLD, Gem has finally given her first television interview and has admitted that yes, she does indeed regret the decision.
We hate to say we told you so but…
Admittedly, the 33-year-old has already revealed that it was her alleged ferocious fight with her ex-boyfriend before the show that left her shaken and ill-prepared for jungle life. So we CAN forgive her in that respect, naturally.
Other than that? We’re not so sure.
Gem spoke to This Morning for the first time since her sensational jungle exit and revealed all about life post-jungle, although it’s reported that due to the ongoing police investigation surrounding THAT fight, she was restricted as to what she could reveal.
She revealed: “I regret it terribly because on a personal level it was the dream job I always wanted. I am devastated about the events before that.
“I had been through an horrific ordeal 24 hours before I left for Australia. I was in so much shock, shock trauma.
“I have wanted to go into the jungle for three and a half years – it’s the job I’ve wanted my whole life.”
Although, are we calling ‘going into the jungle’ a job now? Interesting.
She also responded to questions about why she still decided to enter the jungle after the drama with her ex, explaining: “In hindsight I never should have got on the plane to go. When I got there I was trying to be upbeat Gemma.
“The TV producers knew something had gone on but I covered it up.”
Pity we never really got to see ‘upbeat’ Gemma, or ‘Bear Grylls’ Gemma for that matter. SAD TIMES.
Oh, and in case you were wondering, Gemma was apparently in there “six days,” hitting rock bottom on day four.
It’s not all doom and gloom for Gem after her exit though, as she’s putting her appearance to a good use.
Well, money wise anyway.
She revealed: “I didn’t collect my full fee. I was given a percentage – it is going to a charity for a starving children.”
That’s awfully nice isn’t it? Guess they’ve got Craig Charles to thank you reminding Gem that some people DO get treated worse than their ‘three bowls of porridge a day’ jungle lifestyle.
Anyway, we’re sure a quick trip to Marbs should sort out that regret straight away.
