Hooray! In I’m A Celebrity news this morning, beloved waist-height rapper Tinchy Stryder is the latest person to be confirmed for the Antipodean jungle-jam, joining TOWIE’s Gemma Collins and TV presenter Melanie Sykesas the only confirmed stars for the show.
Tinchy, whose real name is Kwasi Danquah III doncha-know, looks set to have his profile raised by the show, after taking some time out of the limelight in recent years.
Well, aside from THAT charity single with The Chuckle Brothers (to be honest its a travesty that they haven’t been nominated for an Ivor Novello Award yet).
Speaking to those boys and girls at The Mirror, a source at the ITV show said of the former N-Dubz collaborator:
“Tinchy always has been up for a new challenge and likes the idea of doing the show and getting a new audience for his music and business interests.”
“He has been described as ‘the ultimate working class boy done good’ because of his success in music and business ventures and he saw this as another opportunity so we expect him to grab it with both hands.”
“Bosses are hoping he will tell some anecdotes about his A-list friends and also get flirty with some of the single females in there too.”
WHEEEEY COME ON THE LADS FLIRTY BANTA etc, etc.
But Tinchy’s inclusion on the show wasn’t the only bit of I’m A Celeb goss that was working it’s way round the houses this morning.
Josie Cunningham – yes, Josie Cunningham – and Michael Buerk – yes, that fella who used to present the BBC News ‘back in the day’ - are now both tipped to be heading ‘down under’, as the saying goes.
We know, we can’t believe it either to be honest.
According to The Sun, Michael was paid a massive £120,000 to head into the jungle – as it was hoped by show bosses that his inclusion would ‘make jaws drop’.
Well, maybe not ‘make jaws drop’, more just like – ‘WTF?’
Anyway, whilst Michael’s apparently on his way down to Australia as we speak, the shy and retiring Josie Cunningham has been dropping some not-so-subtle hints on Twitter that she too will also be taking on the Bush in the coming weeks.
Despite only pushing a small child out of her body just a few weeks ago, Josie tweeted last month that she could be appearing on our screens in November time – not saying which show however.
But yesterday she was tweeting the Post Office (as you do) about needing a new passport ‘desperately’ for the ‘experience of a lifetime’
Oh, and she didn’t stop there with the jungle chat. Upon hearing that Jake Quickenden could also be heading into the undergrowth, she posted the below tweet:
Such a beautiful way with the English language. Do we need a new Poet Laureate yet?
Anyway, we’re still undecided if Josie’s ACTUALLY being serious, or she’s just having us on – the girl’s got form to be fair!
