Well strike us down and call us Susan – is Justin Bieber transitioning into an upstanding model citizen before our very eyes?
After taking to ‘the internet’ earlier this week to apologise for his recent ‘arrogant’ behavoir in the past year, it’s now emerged that the (former) bad-boi and good-looking chap has allegedly ditched the drink AND the drugs.
A round of applause for the Biebs, please.
According to the tabloid gluttons at The Sun, Justin’s close relationship with his pastor Carl Lentz (who we’ve nicknamed ‘Papa Carlos’) has resulted in him changing his ways after taking a long, hard look at himself.
A source told the paper that: “There’s no one just looks up to more than Carl. He’s had a huge influence on him.”
“They spoke at length about how he can get his life and career back on track and both agreed that getting rid of alcohol and drugs was the natural first step.”
“Justin has made promises like this before but this time we all genuinely believe he is clean. His manager Scooter Braun was very clear that, until Justin sorted himself out, his music comeback was on hold.”
‘Appaz’ a rep for Justin declined to comment, but if this is true we certainly feel like we could be taking the Biebz home to our mother in no time.
After appearing on The Ellen Show, Biebs posted a heartfelt and emotional video to apologise for the way he’s acted, insisting that *that* behaviour isn’t the real him.
N’aww. New year, new Bieber. Hopefully. We’ll see.
Such is the power of the Beliebers, they also managed to get #WeDontJudgeYouJustin trending after watching his video, which is mighty good work. Bars of chocolate all-round, guys.
Talking in a hushed voice in the video, Justin said: “Today, I was on Ellen and it was a lot of fun. She’s amazing, it was her birthday, but I was really nervous. I think I was nervous because I was afraid of what people are thinking about me right now.
“It’s been a minute since I’ve been in a public appearance, and I didn’t want to come off arrogant or conceited or basically how I’ve been acting the past year and a half.”
He continued: “I’m not who I was pretending to be. Why I say I was ‘pretending’ is often we pretend to be something we’re not as a cover-up of what we are truly feeling inside.
“And there were a lot of feelings going on in there. Just being young and growing up in this business is hard. Just growing up in general is hard.”
He added that he’d felt “awkward” and like “people were judging” him, explaining that wants people to know that he cares A LOT about people.
He said: “What has happened in the past has happened, but I just want to make the best impression on people, and be gentle and kind and soft.”
So, there we have it. Cute, right?
Bieber’s promised change, so let’s just keep our fingers crossed that 2015 is a much more trouble-free year for the 20-year-old.
After recording his interview on the show, Justin took to Twitter to apologise directly to Ellen for being nervous, and to wish her happy birthday, which is rather nice.
