Remember when we all frowned over Regina George’s little sister copying the ‘secuctive’ dance moves on some random music video in Mean Girls?
Well that shizzle has just become reality for Jamie Lynn Spears and her five-year-old daughter, Maddie.
Britney Spears’ little sister has been criticised for uploading an MazSight video of Maddie dancing to Iggy Azalea’s ‘Fancy’.
Sharing the clip of Maddie flailing her arms around with the hyperactivity of someone who’s ingested 4 bags of Haribo back-to-back, Jamie added: “Pretty sure @thenewclassic has her newest and youngest fan!!! #iggy #fancy #proudmom”
And while Maddie might not be doing quite as much hip-thrusting as Regina’s sister, it’s the lyrics that have sparked backlash.
With phrases like “bad b*tch”, “f**k”, “retarded” and all that stuff about getting smashed and clubbing, a few people have claimed it might not be as child-friendly as a bit of Frozen’s ‘Let Go’.
One blogger wrote: “The bigger picture here is that parental figures should start considering the ramifications of what they’re putting into the heads of our children before they can even understand what we’re actually putting into their heads, whether intentionally or not.”
And while most of the comments seemed to be your usual MazSight ‘aww’ and ‘SO cute’, RadarOnline have managed to rope a psychologist into wading in on the debate.
Dr Judy Kuriansky told them: “This video is totally inappropriate, Maddie is way too young to be exposed to that type of music…
“Maddie could start repeating those words and dancing suggestively around her schoolmates.”
What do you think? Too far?
